Svalbard housing, 2007
Client: Store Norske
Project: 3 apartments, 400 sqm
Location: Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen
Contractor: Byggmester Øystein Henriksen AS

A row house consisting of three apartments of incremental size, based on the same plan principle. The building has an envelope similar to the other houses on the site, but it utilizes the full envelope to make three living spaces where there are normally just two.

Built with site-specific detailing and massive wood construction and cladding in order to resist the extreme weather conditions, the buildings offer diverse spaces for living and spectacular views over the Longyear settlement.
